Joel (nice name), board presses are an SPP exercise, so I believe Sheiko (and Dave & Eric) would suggest you do them as your second bench movement.
I have done exactly this with a 3 board for my last few prep cycles and have made some good progress. I think the key is getting the correct weight. For me, a raw 3 board matches up perfectly to my shirted bench.

I think you plan sounds good SP. Your 3rd squat at the last comp was very easy.

I think something like a week of conditioning, then #37 into #32 would be better if you are a rated lifter.
I would say take as much rest as you need. It depends on the exercise, your conditioning and equipment. No way can I do 2 minues when I'm doing equipped squats and have to wrap my knees etc.

Wilks said that in a published interview sometime last year.

Our mutual dislike of the English makes the whole thing too bitter to carry on with.

I like pushups too. If you do an exaggerated cat type arch at the top of the movement with the bit of back thats between the shoulder blades they're really good for shoulder health an all. As i understand it you could pick another developmental SPP movement if you wanted though...I think the rule of thumb is use ~40 of your best raw bench for the barbell excersises and ~20% for the dumbell ones. I must say, those pushups with the retracted scaps that Ben describes are the best movement I've ever done for shoulder health. I do them weekly.

I agree completely Ben.
The only other things I would consider doing in those few weeks in a year that are "left over" are:
- Resting, which I have found are good for those niggles that build up and also getting motivated to get back into training - Or doing something that is not PL specific, wether it be GPP of some description or a bit of training for some other lifts

Today I seen some results from both the Russian and Ukrainian IPF affiliates where they had the lifter ratings next to each lifters name. I assume they have a rating table for single ply lifts, which would be handy for us equipped lifters. Anyone know where to find it?
My raw strength is pretty average compared to my equipped stuff as I don't train raw very much, so I think I may be a higher rating than what I read off the raw chart that Eric has posted up on EFS.

Something I've done with success in the past, bench exercise wise, is copying what I've seen from Wade Hooper's videos, being:-
Day 1 - Bench with chains Day 2 - Raw bench pyramid Day 3 - Bench in shirt
And then gone off boards or done lockouts when there is a fourth bench exercise that week.

Another thing I find interesting is that although he's probably the strongest guy on the planet, even his third attempts that I've seen at World level are always text book perfect. I really feel Sheiko is the best method for mastering a compeition lift - and no wonder when you see the amount of times someone like Belyaev does them.

It's some serious volume. His work capacity must be crazy!
Does anyone know if lifters at his level are still government sponsored in Russia? What level do you need to get to acheive this? What about the former Soviet countries, do they do this also?

You guys are going to half to teach me how to do all this forum stuff. I'm not sure how to do the box things you guys do to answer questions. Dave, if you look at a post, there is an icon at the top right with "quote". If you press that, it will put the post into a quote and you can edit out anythign you don't want to quote and add your own comments.

sp, the intensity is similar to 32, but the volume is much lower, which I feel I do better from. The first comp I did, I did the 5 week comp cycle leading up to it, the second comp I did 32, and the last comp I did the 5 week comp again. I definitely feel better with the reduction in volume come meet day. www.elitefts.com/sheiko/5_week_comp_cycle.htmEric or Dave:- I've seen Eric wirte that 29>32 is for lifters closer to a MS rating, is the 5 week comp cycle above for weaker lifters? If so, that may be why I did better off it, as I'm quite a way off MS rating.

sp, that's definitely an issue. You went into that last comp without actually touching any weights in that shirt right? That would do my head in! Benching wise, I've found doing shirt work on Day 1, raw pyramid on Day 2 and benching with chains on Day 3 to work well for my equipped bench. Seems to be what Wade Hooper does looking at his videos.
As far as squatting in gear, I've always squatted in only suit bottoms up to 70%, then added wraps for 80%, then straps up for anything >80%. As Ben has mentioned, you don't get much time with the staps up though if you do 29 and 37 etc.
Before my last comp I did the 5 week rated lifter comp cycle and put my straps up for everything 80% and over, so I got quite a bit of work with the straps up. I think next time I might even try doing both squat sessions of the comp cycle in gear - effectively doubling the amount of time in gear.
