Interesting that you get that much out of just wraps. Which ones do you use? APT Stangulators. I think I wrap them quite tight. This is only true if you have got a LOT better then the last time you wrapped mine ;D

I've been told the new Titan wraps are great, so I'm keen to try them out. I am a Titan guy now, so it will be Titan all the way for me. I have tried the THP's and MAX-RPM's but not the Titanium's. I have them coming and will try them out after the Clash of the Titans once I start training in single ply gear. Does anyone else have any more input?

joel, i like your organization of squat training. How about time (lengh of workout??) eric i my experience more than type of knee wraps (i try with not so many difference thp, titanium (the one i prefer) metal (good) old marathon, inzer) is the "hand" of who put that on. I my team ther's a guy ho takes till 50kg (110lbs???) from knee wraps. He is 2008 european master 1 champion, so a high level lifter but his wrapping is tremendously hard and tremendously fine (above all). Can you explain further more about how your guy wraps? I wrap like the Russians do i.e. beginning with an X just below the knee cap and then X'ing up the knee and finishing at the 3rd or 4th X clearly abouve the knee cap.

Our technique is a little bit different. We wrap normaly round from low to up (sorry my english is so poor). When we reach the quads we made 2 big cross than another round and close up. But all is done very very tightly. Never "jerk" the knee wraps the make them tight (as the guy on video, horrible wrapper) but keep them costantly open (or stretched) and round the knee. Another good idea is to load (round before wrapping) the wraps handly and not with machine. Many people told me that Jaroslaw Olech coach learn the correct wrapping from my teammate. I dont know but it's possible that is true. Sorry again, my english dictionary is the same as a 4 years old guy.

that's a 85% wrap. It's light. Damn, Olech is strong strong strong.

Yeah it doesn't look like his coach it doing them too tight does it? That was his last warmup I believe.

another interesting point- if this is Olech's last warmup- is that he makes a 40kg jump from last warm up to opener. He opens on 340.

yes, it looks strange, 40kg are a big jump, but could be. By the way, 40kgs is around 12%, so not impossible.

I agree with Ado, quite a big jump, but not inconcevable for such a good squatter...11%...its more than I would take between my last warmup and opener but then he is one of the greatest lifters ever and I am not.
Maybe he took 320 too...

ok, i'm a zero compared to Olech coach, but i'm quite sure that wrapping in a normal way for 5 round, than make 2 o 3 big cross, from quad to below knee gives you a stronger knee. If you had understand what i mean let's try, please, and then tell me.

Ado, that's how I wraps my knees. I've not tried the method that Olech uses, but I think it would be tough for the bigger guys to get enough coverage with that style.

Feedback from my last cycle & comp. I have just completed 17 weeks (Dave's 13 week equipped cycle - first 4 weeks raw then onto 13 weeks equipped) I also factored in an extra 5 days as I knew I would have work commitments and the cycles would take me into the "flu" season.
Old max - New Maxes
Squat: 235 up 260kgs Bench: 165 up 175kgs Dead: 242.5 up 250kgs
Went 9/9 and I think I had more in the squat and definitely more on the bench (had some issues touching)
To be noted, I purchased a new squat suit which I used for the cycle & I put on approx. 3kgs during the 18 weeks.

I had a comp last week. Leading up to it I did Dave's 13 week program. I had an extra week, so after week 8 I did a week based on the final week of #31, but with reduced volume (so it had some 90% singles in).
Squat - 15kg comp PB, 5kg all-time PB Bench - 15kg 3-lift comp PB, 10kg comp PB, 5kg all-time PB Deadlift - Equal comp PB (I have hit this weight for more than a year, 10kg improvement on my last comp).
50kg PB on my comp total.
