Ciao Ado! Thankyou for posting. I would definitely like to try this after my current cycle. Could you please post the rest of it up when you have the time? Thanks! You on target for 26/6? Not sure. I'm training for Nationals. Might do the 26th as a skills assessment - might just squat and bench, we'll see. You?

You just did the skills evaluation.
Skills test is at the end where you will go for some new 1RMs.
Generally, you won't feel stronger in week 9 compared to the start due to fatigue accumulation.

I can't see the videos at work, but I would have some faith in the programming. You will supercompensate with the deload in the next few weeks and will definitely be stronger come skills test day. Did you train at all on your holiday?

I would at least try and get to a gym for one day where you can do some squat, bench and deadlift.

Yeah I would really try to get something done that week. Are you away for the entire week?

The deload week is before the meet? Are you talking about week 13?
A week with no lifting anytime before your comp isn't ideal really.

I have to say Dave, some of it looks nearly impossible... 9x3x80% with long pauses with no warm up? 10x2x85% !

Yeah maybe I will use a 3 count pause... I was probably only using a 1ct.

I really struggled with the comp pause too. I hit a paused 170 a few months ago in the gym and did an easy 165 two weeks before the comp. I opened with 165 and it was tough and missed 172.5.
I'm not sure if the answer is to use a longer pause in training or just be more conservative on comp day??

That's a great result. How did you go on the bench and pull?

Hey I have a question about the squat and deadlift routine... it shows a max on the squat in week 15 and a deadlift max in week 16... how do you work that in terms of a comp? Or is this for the off season?

I've attached a file which has his 16wk dead and squat routine and two of his bench routines. Hey I just put two and two together - are you Glen Spooner?

I always find the pulls from boxes to be tough. I think they are key to building deadlift strength though. They should be below the knee in my opinion. Crawling into a corner to cry/sleep. LOL, I like it. Welcome to the wonderful world of Sheiko.

Kiwi, Boris talks in his book about novices, namely training groups of youths. He basically says it's because they will over-estimate their maxes and try to raise the weight each session, which can lead to injury.
He says that the most important thing is the number of repitions, rather than the weight on the bar.
