earlier in the week I aggravated my knee while squatting, so today I decided to squat with knee wraps (normally I would squat raw- although I do compete equipped). I found the groove very similar to my fully equipped squat and for this reason I was thinking this could be very beneficial to my training for equipped lifting. How could I integrate knee wraps into my training if I do not have a knee wrap only 1rm? For todays session I just stuck with my raw %, but the weights felt too easy.

You would either need to, at some point, take a 1RM in knee wraps or (over time) get a really good feel for what they do for you in terms of carryover and adjust the poundages accordingly. This is sometimes where Dave's Tendo unit really comes in handy; but you can do it the old fashioned way as well. I would have to say that, in "general", the knee wraps probably do not give you more than 50 pounds carryover. Perhaps Dave can add his input since his experiences with lifters is probably more recent than mine.

I was thinking something like 5%- which for me is about 30lb- and assuming my knee was fine to resume raw lifting using wraps for the first squat and doing the second without. Does that sound reasonable?

I think a lot depends on how tight you wrap 'em, and how you squat (wider + sitting back = less support from knee wraps).
Personally if i were in your position Steve i would add ~20kg to my raw sq max and use that to base your %'ages off.

Once again I think this is the first time I am sharing this publicly, but I have been working with a few lifters that are getting great results from using a pair of Alan''s (Alan at APT) two-ply convict knee sleeves; or at least I think that is what they are called. They are black and white striped horizontally.
The feedback I am getting is that they provide a nice little boost in the bottom of the squat but they are not as aggressive or as time consuming as using a knee wrap.
Might be something to consider given your status of your knee not being 100%. You would get a little protection from not going raw but perhaps not as aggressive as a knee wrap.

actually I think my brain was out of carbs when I wrote that. I ordered some APT convict wraps and some TK knee bands. I use the TK knee bands for all raw squatting now and they are awesome. The convicts are hardcore.

why do people want to complain about something like this, but any new suit or shirt comes out they are all about it. i do train a lone and would dig something like this. pretty sure all my squats are way deep. i think the people that wouldn't want something like this, just can't hit a deep squat and don't want a machine to tell them that.
