I was wondering if it would be okay to take two rest days in-between Mondays squat day and the deadlift day rather than taking the whole weekend off. Thanks.

This kind of training is different to the one you are probably used to. If you come from a bodybuilding style workout plans where you squat, bench and deadlift once a week, you're used to bombing that bodypart as hard as you can and than giving it as much time as possible to recover. Hence your mentality that deadlifting 48 hours after squatting (deadlifting on wednesday after having squatted on monday) is too short of a time period. If you had been an olympic weightlifter this thing would not have crossed your mind because they squat or front squat every day they hit the weights, and pull every session too (whether it's high pulls, snatches, cleans or their variations). So for building strength, the amount of volume in a particulat time frame, whether it's a week or a 4 week block ecc is what counts, and the waving method of having hard, medium and light workouts combined with hard, medium and light weeks. You are actually recovering while you are doing a light or medium workout, but at the same time increasing the volume. Bodybuilding style workouts intend the lifter to recover only while doing active rest.

The block I'm on at the moment is sheiko 29 Not really. The reason is that you typically accumulate quite a bit of fatigue during the week and really need those two days off on the weekend. Otherwise, you would be squatting on Saturday and then having to squat again on Monday. You could always try it and see how you get on.
