I just finished my first go around with Sheiko. I ran 29, 37 and then 32. I had a week off in the middle of 37 due to a vacation, so I just jumped back into it when I got back. That left me pretty sore.
My meet was this past weekend. I went 518 squat (5lb pr), 375 bench (5lb pr), 562 deadlift for a 1455 total (10lb pr). All lifts were raw, 242, USAPL. I left a bit of weight on the platform on the bench, but there was nothing left on the squat. Overall I'm pleased -- 3 prs is a lot for me given that I've been competing for a little over ten years.
I'm a little unhappy with the pulls, however. Nothing felt right with my deadlift throughout the cycle. Looking back at my training, the best deadlift gains I've made were pulling once per week for speed and once per week with a heavy deadlift variation (snatch grip pulls or block pulls).
So, finally to my questions: Can I replace the deadlift to the knees days with snatch grip pulls? The percentages look about right to me for what I can snatch grip pull and I don't know that I got much out of the deads to the knees (performed halting style). Also, I'm considering doing one of the CMS/MS cycles since it has a second deadlift day. I know this violates the rule against changing multiple variables at the same time, so perhaps this is a bad idea. Thoughts?
