Straps?

All this high volume deadlifting every wednesday is tearing the hell out of my fingers. Do any of you ever use straps? If so, when do you use them. I obviously wouldn't want to use them constantly, because I don't want my grip to detrain. Maybe use them only for the second deadlift exercise in the workout?

Yeah I sometimes use straps. If I say have full ROM pulls first and then pulls from blocks second, I will use straps for the second movement.
You'll find your hands get conditioned after a while - I generally use straps because I don't want to pull too much with a mixed grip to reduce the risk of a back injury. I should probably swap my hands over, but it feels so awkward the other way around.

My hands are usually pretty beat up by the second pulling movement, by which time I usually whip out the straps for the heavy sets. Doesn't seem to negatively affect my grip strength in the grand scheme of things.
