Maybe I suck at the search, but I can't find the answer to this (aside from start below your knee). I've been doing mine off of 20 kilo bumper plates (I just roll the plates on the bar onto the bumper plate) and I have a feeling that this is too low.

I vary the height so on plates is Ok, just mix it up from time to time. Same applies to deficit DL.

I have actually seen some notes from Sheiko himself.
Pulls from blocks should be below the knee (although I've had best results going from mid-shin).
Pulls from a deficit should be 12-15 cm.

That's a f*ckin HUGE defecit. I normally use like 5cm. That might explain why I find them quite easy with the given %'ages...

Must have skinny feet because anything over 10cm you cant really get your feet under the bar.

From a CMS plan I have from Sheiko:-
Day 2 (Tuesday) ------------------ 1.Thrust standing on the base ** 50% 4rH2p, 60% 4rH2p, 65% 3rH5p (31) ------------------ ** - Stand height should be 12-15cm.

I tried a few sets at about 8 or 9 cm last night. It's pretty much a totally different movement. Way more legs (obviously).
I will say though that I always used to bump up the working weight on defecit pulls as they were too easy. With this defecit the numbers prescribed for me in the CMS cycle are about spot on.
Like Kiwi says though, you'd pretty much have to be a duck (or any other web-footed wetland fowl) to get your feet under't bar with a 15cm defecit. Underside of bar is 21cm so it'd only leave you 6cm

Glad I read this before I tried the deficit pulls as I was going to use a much smaller deficit than that. 5 inches on the bottom end of the suggested deficit is a lot. I'll try that plus bumping up my height a bit on the pulls from blocks.

T thought I somewhere read that Sheiko advice lifters which are lower than CMS rank should not pull from the deficit of 4 inches, but go lower, because that will mess up their technique (because the technique of these lfiters is far from perfect yet).
