Hey guys, I just have a few questions for you that I couldnt find the answers to.
A bit of background, I am relatively new to Strength training and have only been doing it for the past 6 months. I ran Starting Strength for the first few months until I stalled on Bench to many times and switched over to 5/3/1 until I hurt my knee(my own fault for not warming up as well as I should have, learned that lesson the hard way and couldnt squat/deadlift for 6 weeks).
Anyways I am fully healthy now and would really love to give Sheiko a go for 2010 and see how far it can take me. I started #29 last week and am about to enter week 2 tommorow but I just stumbled upon this forum and have a few questions.
My maxes are 300/180/320 which gives me a Youth 2 rating. What kind of programming sequence do newer lifters use to get the maximum gains? I was thinking of doing something like #29/#37/#32 and then if that goes well repeating. I guess my question as well is that since Sheiko only works with "real maxes" should I test my maxes at the end of each month to keep my training max real? Since I am such a new lifter I will still be getting "newbie gains" and 3 months seems a long time to use the same maxes?
A few guys that use Sheiko on another forum I am part of reccomended that I simply just run prep cycles over and over again while adding weight to my training max each month and then after 3-4 months testing my maxes to see where they are. Is that a good way to go for newer lifters? From most of the info I have read here it seems like your only ever supposed to work with your real actual maxes.
Any tips or advice that anyone can give for Sheiko for newer lifters are definately appreciated.
Thanks for any and all help!
