My wife and I are looking into some new cookware. Can someone make a recommendation? I see Mercola now recommends a ceramic model. Is this the gold standard now? thanks.

Anytime Mercola is selling something I really question his claims. I don't believe he is objective when it comes to the products he sells.

I just use a stainless steel frying pan if i am frying / sauteeing (which is occasional these days). When i grill or oven bake, i tend to put my stuff on a stainless steel mesh with tin foil underneath (i.e. i never let the food come into contact with the foil), or i put it directly on baking paper. When i steam (my preferred method for cooking), i make sure I place my stuff in a clay or ceramic bowl and them put it in the steamer. My steamer is plastic, but i dont think the heat used in steaming is high enough to cause any of the plastics to leach into the food.
I think whatever material you cook with, there will always be some minerals from it that will leach into the food. Its just a case of picking the ones that do the least harm.

Glassware, such as "Visions" is what we highly recommend in MT.
