Eric,
Below is what a local dentist recommends prior to removal of silver-mercury fillings. Are there any changes you would recommend to me as a Para dominant besides Vit C (calcium ascorbate) instead of ascorbic acid?
Perhaps ideally, each individual would have their own individualized detox / protection supplement, dietary, lifestyle program in relation to their dental clean-up and removal of silver-mercury fillings. But if that is impractical for you, consider these “one size fits all” protocol considerations.
All of the following should begin 10 days prior to dental clean-up and continue for 3 months afterwords.
1. Provide your body with proper nutrition including amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids. During amalgam removal, toxic metals will compete with nutrients for receptor sites, the better the nutrition, the less negative effect of the exposure to the mercury.
2. Healthy diet:
decrease/eliminate: sugars, refined foods, caffeine, alcohol, wheat, dairy,
increase: protein, (50-70 grams daily), eggs, fiber, vegetables, water, whole grains get adequate protein, (50-70 grams daily). Eggs are an excellent source of protein and sulfur.
3. Fiber (psyllium supplement or Thorne’s Herbal Bulk) will help clean the intestinal track. Adequate elimination will clean the intestines.
4. Chlorella (or some other green food), begin slowly and increase to 10 tabs daily with a loading dose of 20-40 capsules on the day of and the day after mercury removal. Chlorella binds to metals in the gut and helps to excrete the toxins.
5. Vitamin C, take 3-5 grams of a buffered ascorbic acid daily. You can increase to bowel tolerance (diarrhea means stop!) on the three days around dental work. C augments mercury excretion and is a strong anti-oxidant. (Anti-oxidants like vitamin E, pycnogenol, and others can be added)
6. Garlic, taken as a food or as a tablet. A one-a-day tablet will provide high sulfur and cysteine, acting as anti-oxidant and chelator. (MSM as alternative)
7. Multi-mineral supplementation, take 3 tabs daily. This is to replace the good minerals that are chelated out as part of the detox.
8. Electrolyte solution with lots of water. This helps mineral absorption and cell permeability. (Alka Seltzer Gold as alternative)
9. Redoxal, take 3 tabs daily. This combination of vitamins and amino acids helps support cellular balance.
10. Glutathione, 100mg 2-3 times daily for improved anti-oxidant support.

It would be most prudent to consult with your health care physician or naturopathic physician prior to beginning this type of dental care.
