Eric,
Do you think Tom's of Maine products are good improvement of commercial brands in terms of toothpaste and deodorant?

Their toothpastes and mouthwashes are good - i use them. Thier deodorants often contain tea tree oil which is significantly estrogenic, so i avoid them, and i use PitRok deodorant stick isntead.

Thanks for the response Rob. I certainly don't want any addition estrogen. I looked on the label and online in their ingredients and could not find it. Might it come under another name? Also, with regard to Tree Tea Oil I was thinking about using it with natural soap to clean exercise equipment in my Personal training studio. Since there are concerns about the flu transmission I want to use something but also want to use non toxic ingredients. It seems like the Tree Team oil might act like a disinfectant. Any thoughts on this or other options? Thanks Doug

Tee trea oil can be absorbed through the skin, so potentially clients coudl recive the estrogenic effect through contact with surfaces scrubbed with tea tree oil, although in reality the effect is likely to be negligable. Good ol sodium sesquicarbonate (i.e Borax substitute) and sodium bicarbonate (i.e baking soda) woudl be good and can be bought in bulk dirt cheap - any of the sodium carbonates are good disinfectants.
