Eric, from a MT perspective are the typical chlorine and bromine used in pools and hot tubs much of an issue for people?
Are there any preferred ways to manage water quality in a hot tub or pool for your health?
I really enjoy the hot tub for muscle soreness and recently the pool has been a nice additional activity.

Doug:
I wish I had a "happier" answer for you; but the truth is that repeated use of such pools and hot tubs can negatively impact your health.
Just like anything else-what may really negatively impact one's health may only somewhat negatively impact another's. However, any way you cut it this would still be considered a blocking factor. If one has removed most other blocking factors, then the impact would not be so great. If many blocking factors still exist, then-well-you know the drill.
I invested in a jacuzzi tub when we built our house; and it works really well. That could be one option for you.
Regardless, I would advise you to wash yourself off well after being in a pool or hot tub that uses chlorine or bromine with lukewarm water. Monitor your DCR's and anything else that changes over time; and then make the call for yourself.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Eric,
That's what I figured.
I've seen people use a copper-silver ionization process to keep pool and hot tub water clean. Do you think that would be a better option.
Good idea about the rinsing off. I haven't really done that before after the hot tub.

Do you think you can provide me with a summary or a link to where I might be able to find out more? I can then give it a read, talk to some of my MT colleagues, and then let you know what they collectively think. Sound good?
