Hi Guys,
I have started doing a upper back and shoulder workout on my days off (2-3x a week) from sheiko workouts. I am only using 50% of the weight i would usually use on the exercises ie wide lat pull usual 3/100/12 GPP 3/50/12. The workout consists of;
Seated row (wide grip) 3x12 Lat pull (wide grip) 3x12 Seated row (V-bar) 3x12 Lat pull (V-bar) 3x12 Shrugs (dumbell) 3x12 Front delts 3x12 Side Delts 3x12 Rear delts 3x12 Upright row 3x12
Do you think performing this workout 2-3x lightly a week would be over-training when combined with sheiko training or do you think i should be able to cope ok?
Thanks in advance

Well we can tell you that plenty guys on here do light resistance circuits as part of their GPP so we can certainly confirm that it CAN work. Whether what you are doing WILL work for you only time will tell...It depends on many things like your personal work capacity, age, recovery ability etc....you'll find out soon enough if you are overworking. My best advice is do it, but start very light and with less volume and build up slowly. EDIT - I ALMOST MISSED IT!!! THE FORBIDDEN EXCERSISE!! Upright rows??!!?

tom, I've done something similar (not quite as much volume though) and it's worked pretty well.
- I would maybe start with few exercises/sets and build it up - Make sure the work is not taxing and is actually GPP - Pay close attention to your recovery and don't let it impede you main lifting days - Taper it down once you start your comp cycle, making sure you don't do any the week of your comp.
