Prostaglandin Balance is a Fundamental Homeostatic Control in Metabolic Typing (one that should be emphasised more IMHO). If I were to eat eggs, butter, and flax oil then I would be stressing my immune system and ultimately "undoing" any good that might have come from balancing my prostaglandins. The way to balance the FHC's and bolster the immune system is by eating those foods that push body chemistry in the right direction, and avoiding those foods that show up on the Signet MRT test. One need not eat eggs, butter, and flax oil. Simply eat right for your type, avoid sensitive foods, and the prostaglandins will right themselves Eric

Damn! I pity you Eric - Eggs and butter are among my favourite foods I do add a little ground flax a few times a week to my nut and berries mixture, mainly to bolster the fat, protein, and fibre content, but also because it improves my Omega 3 intake a bit, and the lignans in flax are sex good hormone modulators (bind to estrogen receptors to prevent more potent estradiol from taking effect). I understand getting the diet right for your Metabolic Type is the key, but even so, a little bit of consideration to prostaglandin balance as an afterthought cant hurt. Evening primrose oil is pretty neutral for all Metabolic Types i'm guessing ...? A capsule of that a day might help a bit, and i notice that EFA supplements seem to be almost universally recommended by HealthExcel, which helps to re-balance prostaglandin output.

Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is either ideal for all the types or neutral for the mixed. What flax may or may not do for you (always keep in mind the individual factor), I am able to accomplish by other means i.e. keeping my FHC's in balance by eating right for my type, removing blocking factors and toxic loads, supplementing corretly, etc. Just as with anything else, if you or me or anyone else decided to start supplementing with EPO then they would want to pay attention to their DCR's and any trends that become apparent over the ensuing weeks. For example, if I begin to specifically supplement with EPO and notice that my (whatever) seemed to improve then perhaps that additional nudge to the prostaglandin FHC did in fact make a difference. However, as you know what may happen to one person may not happen in another. If we always look through the prism of biochemical individuality, then we really can't go wrong by just listening to our bodies. Probe and analyze...probe and analyze...
