Hey Eric, this post is well timed after the telephone consultancy we had the other week, and you were saying to me exactly what you have said in your blog! I note however that even when you were in Stage 1 Adrenal Fatigue, your testosterone levels were still high-normal. It makes me wonder if the lack of impact on sporting performance would still apply if someone is in the low end of the testosterone scale, like my recent test showed. Its also interesting to note that when a number of your clients restored their adrenals they packed on muscle - something which can be seen in Adrenal Types (packing on muscle easily). I dont care how tired or ill i get, i always work hard in the gym, and reading your blog entry makes me want to train even harder!

Well, the point I was trying to make is that hormone levels do not completely and totally dictate strength or lean muscle gains. There is clearly something more to it than that. You make an interesting point about the ones that restored adrenal function and went on to in fact put on muscle mass. They were all adrenal types, with a few exceptions-those were adrenal/thyroid (Cusp) types. The whole key is to find what level of volume and intensity works for you to build strength, and then stick to it. This is where my coach Dave Bates would come in. He continues to formulate and try out new templates to see just how little volume one needs to still build strength. Eric
