Its just occured to me that for the first time in about 10 years, i havent had any seasonal (i.e hayfever-induced) asthma. When i was younger i used to get really bad asthma triggered by hayfever, which incidentally was about the time when i was following a mainstream 'recommended' diet of low fat, high starch, high grain. Then about 3 years ago i realsised that i couldnt live a lie any more and knew that the conventional high carb diet was hurting me, so i made the dramatic switch to Mauro DiPasquale's (a cyclical ketogenic diet) Anabolic Diet which considerably lessened my symptoms during the low-carb phases, but the carb-ups just bought them back again. Then for the last 6 months i have been following a diet suited to my metabolic type (parasympathetic dominant), which is very similar to the Anabolic Diet, but without carb ups, and with further refinements in selection of metabolically-appropriate meats, veg, and fruits, and my asthma symptoms have gone all together!
My guess is that my asthma was being triggered by excessively active parasympathetic ANS, and my metabolic type plan has ramped up my sympathetic nervous system to balance out my ANS, and consquently stopped my asthma.
