Hey UF. Hows it going brother? I was planning on doing a push and pull meet at the end or March but I havent seen any listing of it in Powerlifting USA magazine yet. Last year was their 10th annual meet. Maybe I should look for another meet anyway because I want to get a total and do all 3 lifts just to see where I stand. Its not sanctioned either so I might look to do one in an established federation. Anyway from looking at the numbers you are putting up in training you should smoke that 1275. Keep up the great training! Your meet is coming up pretty soon.

I'm hoping to total around 1900 and then hit 2K at nationals. Where do you live? ya i would go get a total and see where you stand and a full comp is always fun.

Wow 1900 & 2000 is some serious weight UF. I live in Western Pennsylvania in the USA. Yeah I dont think I'll do that push & pull meet even if he does have it. Not having a total would suck to me. I'd always be wondering how much would I have squatted. Plus nothing can really compare to trying it at a meet. You can simulate it all you want at the gym but nothing is the same as a meet from what Ive heard from other PLers. Plus it being unsanctioned makes me think this wouldnt be the meet for me. Grind it out your last few weeks. I'm sure you'll do well UF.

How is it different from a regular barbell shrug? I mainly do barbell shrugs for shrugs. I dont think I do them enough. I can only get like 315 for a few reps on the barbell shrug.

thx mike ya im jus trying to keep my head right and push through. Ya man a full meet is the way to go. And power shrugs are just barbell shrugs using more of your full body and being more explosive.

Some interesting substittutions youve made bud, is that something of your own design (the rev bands and zerchers) or is it something youve vbeen workin on with dave?

Some interesting substittutions youve made bud, is that something of your own design (the rev bands and zerchers) or is it something youve vbeen workin on with dave? they are my own design to hit some weaknesses that i have. I have found that the lack of heavy weight in the squat makes my set up and execution suffer at meets. To solve this i have incorporated the overloads with the rev band box squats. I just recently added the zerchers since they benefit the deadlift and that is my worse lift.

Well experimenting is the only way to find out if they'll work bud.
I agree that the one weakness i sometimes find in myself due to the programming is maybe a lack of grinding ability against heavy loads in the sq and DL...i always blow up my 80 and 85% reps pretty fast but sometimes i feel like not having had to fight any 90-95% loads in the training cycle means i have less fight on the 100-105% stuff come comp day.
Personally i think the way round it is to just take a few more 85-90% singles here and there but maybe the rev band way will work too.

545 for 1 on bench press is most impressive UF! Keep it up! I'm thinking of buying a single ply bench shirt. I wanted to do just raw powerlifting but Im pretty sure lifting with a shirt will raise my raw lifts too. Probably save my knees and elbows too. Keep it up bro!

Keep it up bro! thanks man im really short so my bench stroke is non existent lol. I am hoping to break the 600 mark in dec. I would def go single ply I love it and my joints are happier lol. Stick with titan for single ply gear in my opinion.
