In England, esp. in the East End of London and the South where the cockneys are, eels are quite a popular food - jellied eels (eels boiled with seasoning and gelatin then allowed to set), stewed eels with parsley sauce, etc. My dad bought me up eating alot of seafood, and we used to go to the local Eel, Pie & Mash Shop on a weekly basis and have stewed eels, parsley sauce (known as 'liquor sauce' for some unknown reason), and mash. I recently 're-discovered' eels, and the supermarkets seem to sell jellied eels dirt cheap.
From what i gather, eels are low in mercury content, high in protein, and have a decent amount of omega 3's.
However, they are not on my MT Food List - i mean not on there AT ALL (not even as a restricted food). So i'm wondering, asa Protein Type, should i be eating them?

They are an oily fish, so my guess would be yes. Smoked eel is one of my favourite foods.

Introduce and evaluate them the same as you would anything. Try them, observe, note, and then proceed accordingly by what your body is telling you.
