Being a Brit, the pub culture is pretty much integral to socialising over here, and rarely a fortnight goes by where i dont end up in the pub at least once. I can handle not drinking alcohol, but i find drinking tap water all night tedious. I eventually cave in and end up going on to diet soft drinks, which i know are loaded wiht nasty toxic sweetners and metals. Is anyone else out there in a similar situation?

Yes and to be honest on these occassions I let it go and just drink the diet soft drink.... or alcohol. It doesn't happen often enough to cause any major problems, if indicators are suggesting I'm building up a problem health wise (asthma for me) then I'll hold back but otherwise just let it go.

Funnily enough, when i drink too many soft drinks or beer, i also get asthmatic! I used to get round this by necking 5-6 fish oil caps immediately before going out, and crayy a few more in my wallet in case i got wheezy. This worked really well for opening up my airways. I learned however, that red wine and clear spirits dont have this problem, so during the summer, when i am most prone to asthma from hayfever (pretty mild since i started MT) i tend to avoid beer and soft drinks as much as poss when i go out, and if i have a drink it will be red wine and / or something like gin and tonic.

Just so i dont give the wrong impression though - i'm not even half the piss-head my mates are. When i go out to pubs, clubs, or parties, i will only drink 2-3 alcoholic drinks before moving on to water or soft drinks. I dont need much more than a few units to put me in the right mood for a night out.

He doesn't understand not being a british bloke... I think I *somewhat* do. I have lived in Greece, and they have a very similar attitude towards alcohol-although not the same. I hope to be moving back there after Raw Unity 2010-but we will see how things work out these next 6 months.

I get what you are saying. I have decided to lay off booze 100% for the indefinate future. My mates dont particularly care about my health either - they just want to go out and 'have a good time' (if you can call inebriating yourself and dancing like a thingy a good time).

No, I haven't. Why don't you guys put together a group for an MT seminar and I will come over, present, and then you guys can take me out...
