Less than 3 weeks into the new year and the Haterade is already flowing freely!
Whether it's comical attempts at undermining and backstabbing, amusing would-be attacks from internet trolls or what have you, some names seem to come up a lot as the targets of such.
Actually, the priceless publicity is much appreciated.
So knowing what you know - or hearing what you've heard - about the five characters in this poll, who among them do you think will top the list as the most hated BMFer in powerlifting for 2009 and why? Come on, be candid!
"Bud because he is a calculating, manipulative, greedy dirty rat bastard who is trying to ruin this sport," is standard fare, so let's go with something different and original.
The five are already voting amongst themselves and even have a pool going. ;D

JT Hall bevause everithing about him cries HATE. "Big Willie" as his self proclaimed nick name, - Need I elaborate? Always talking up his sponsors on the boards. Always whoring it up with posts showing his accomplishments on a line of boards. And lastly: he is always friendly, helpful and never replies in a negative manner to the many attacks he is submitted to online. Gotta hate a guy that remains positive no matter what

This is an easy one. Because. They are both good at what they do, and they know it. Then they prove it. There is a very fine line between arrogant's and confidence. People in this sport that hate, do not know the difference between the two. My votes go to: Drum rolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

The most hated BMFer?! By the end of the year, it could be all 5 names listed!! But why would other lifters and critics hate these men that have been mentioned? Well, let's see:
1. Shawn Lyte- It's been said that "Bud" is simply trying to ruin the sport of powerlifting! Yet, he seems to be the only business man making an attempt to bring some unity to the sport. There isn't one lifter out there that hasn't said that they wish powerlifting got more publicity! No, Shawn is not President Obama, but I'm ready for change in this sport! So, if he has to be the "Vince McMahon" of powerlifting, I guess people are really going to hate that.
2. Erik Whitfield- Being a Mississippi boy, he kinda flies under the radar. I mean, economically, Mississippi is literally at the bottom of the map in more ways than one! Not so true in powerlifting! "The Hitman" is a multi-time regional, 3-time National & 3-time World champion.. FYI, those National & World titles were won in consecutive fashion! He ranks in the Top 20 (220 Class Raw) in 3 of 4 categories by PowerliftingWatch.com.. is that a reason for people to be jealous? I would think so!
3. Claude Bouyer- "The Phenom" aims to please every time he steps on the platform and doesn't disappoint the crowd! So, why hate a guy like that? Maybe it's because he constantly tops the 165-lb. list when it comes to Raw bench press? Or, maybe because he hit 405 Raw at the tender age of 23 when most "hardcore lifters", probably the critics that talk about him, will never bench that much in their career?!
4. JT Hall- Why do people hate "Big Willie"?! I'll tell you why! His career speaks for itself. JT has been ranked in the Top 100 for over a decade! So what if he talks up his sponsors and puts his accomplishments on forum boards week in and week out?! Either get your weight up or simply just shut up! I think JT makes people upset by staying consistent and smiling no matter what poeple write about him. Kill 'em with kindness, that's JT. You critics really hate that don't you?
5. Joe Morrow- A nickname like "Showtime" just screams arrogant!! No one has even seen his name on the list of any Raw powerlifting forum and the fact that he now associates himself with Shawn Lyte and BMF Sports just makes you think nothing positive about him. My advice to those skeptical, make your way to Hattiesburg, Mississippi April 11th. Pull up a seat, get a drink, grab some popcorn and sit back and enjoy "The Show"!!

I didn't see all my choices...gotta second the choice of Bud...folks that stir up the pot usually become the target of venom. I'd take that as positive reinforcement!

I know who some of the unnamed are, and they're not BMFers. I can't think of any reason why anyone would dislike any of the rest of you. You're all too nice! LOL

I logged my vote for Mr. JT Hall, only because I used to be a frequent visitor to BB.com, and JT has certainly got himself a big ol' group of haters over there - keep going with the WCPP and you'll trump him soon though Bud

Somebody might wanna call the Mississippi Highway Patrol and have them set up road blocks at every possible interstate leading into Hattiesburg April 11th!!! The BMF Train is coming full speed ahead to claim APA Raw National titles, but also to claim records, respect and the title of "The Most Hated SOBs in Powerlifting"!!
To the delightment of many, especially those in the 220 class, "Big Willie" JT Hall won't be in attendence. But that doesn't mean the presence of BMF Sports won't be felt!!
Not only will the "Vince McMahon" of powerlifting, Shawn Lyte, be in attendence, but a roster of kick ass first-ask questions later lifters will be there as well!!
*The "Inspiration" of BMF, Danny Aguirre will be there to welcome all competitors. *BMF's "IronChick" JoJo Brasseaux will be there to claim her spot as one of the most powerful women on the planet! *Carol Ann Myers and Amanda Micka will be there to dish out some BMF beauty and flavor to the audience. *And what may go down as the most hated trifecta in powerlifting in 2009: Claude Bouyer, Erik Whitfield and Joe Morrow will be on the platform to get silly and hush any critics in attendence!
The BMF Train WILL roll though the APA Raw Nationals April 11th.. don't get caught standing on the tracks!!! *

Interestingly, we have three of the most likable people in the sport in Bill Blackstone, Claude Bouyer and Danny Aguirre. This year will begin the fun, excitement and entertainment this sport has lacked for the last 40+ years. ;D Somebody might wanna call the Mississippi Highway Patrol and have them set up road blocks at every possible interstate leading into Hattiesburg April 11th!!! I believe BMF has signed or will be signing a fellow out of Chicago. He's 48 but still gives Big Willie a run for his money. I think he benches some were around 475 @ 215 BW. If I read correctly he also plans on hitting 500 in the near future. This is what I heard any way. We shall see.
