Thanks for spreading the word, Philip! As of 06 April 2009, St. Louis seminar DVD orders are now being filled by BMF Sports; and orders placed this week may be delayed in shipping by two days while the change is being made. Eric You're welcome, Erik! I believe in spreading the word on good products or services. I don't think there is any better way to start Sheiko than Dave and you.

Well, maybe Boris Ivanovich himself...! ...but he is retired; officially, anyway.

I am a novice class lifter and I bought the DVDs mainly to learn how to incorporate GPP into a program. Eric’s presentation on that topic is very good, he clearly explains what is GPP and how to implement it. Also explained are the differences between supplementary and developmental SPP exercises.
Another strong point of the DVD is the overview of the Sheiko progression and how does one progress from a novice to a rated lifter to a CMS/MS and above.
Overall, I have to say that I found the DVDs very informative.

I havent managed to get all the way through it yet - i'm half way through the 2nd DVD. Highlights for me: - Very good at getting across the importance of practicing the Competition Exercises on a regular basis for neuro-muscular rehersal. - Good explanation of how SPP can transition to GPP for exercises like sled dragging, depending upon the exercise parameters used. - The general nature and purpose, and wide scope of GPP exercises was well explained. - Nice caution on overdoing the GPP to the detriment of sport-specific training performance - Although the camera work was a little all over the place to start with, the sound and video quality was good. So far, my only gripe was the fact that on the first DVD, there was a bit where you were wrapping up your discussion on SPP Developmental exercises i think, and then theres a jump in the footage into another discussion you are having on GPP. I really wanted to know what you said in the bit that was cut! I will have to watch the first DVD again and see what time frame the jump occurs at. I feel for the Sheiko enthusiast, or those wanted to find out more about Sheiko, this is an excellent introduction to the system.

Yes-please let me know what happened with the "jump" i.e. time, etc. This has not been brought to my attention before...

Hi Eric i pinned down where the jump is on my first DVD - its at the 31.39 minute mark (chapter 8), where you are discussing the ''Developmental SPP Continued' slide which starts with "In order to properly and accurately eveluate ..."

I just finished watching the St. Louis Seminar Dvds by Eric Talmant yesterday and I just wanna say "Great Stuff!" I learned so much by watching these dvds. Its over 3 hours of valuable info for the powerlifter. Its full of new info. Eric's knowledge of Sheiko and Russian training methods are matched by few if none. I cant wait to put some the stuff I learned into practice at the gym.

I was wondering if you could sell me Mike Tuscherer's half of the Progressive Powerlifting Seminar. I think you mentioned you could earlier in this thread. Like I said earlier I learned a lot of good stuff from your half of the presentation and I have applied it to my training in the last month or so. Thanks again and take care. -Mike

I just want to add some support for purchasing this DVD. I'm not one to usually endorse something in this way, but I do feel it is a worthwhile investment for anyone who is looking to start using a Sheiko approach to training It answers so many questions and really does stop you from wasting your time on the wrong routines, and helps you understand the progression path needed for the best results to be possible. I bought it from the Mike Tuchscherer site: www.reactivetrainingsystems.com/ I don't know if it's available anywhere else. If you're over seas though, UK in my case, I'd highly recommend using this site as Mikes service and international postage costs are exceptional I can't emphasise enough how valuable this DVD is, it really does help you understand the online translations, and just saves you so much time!
