I have been told that 39/40 are designed to be run back to back over and over again so something like 30-40-deload, inc maxes 39-40-deload etc. Is this correct and if so how long could you theoretically continue this way and is it worth doing.

I'm not actually sure 39/40 are Sheiko programs. Some of the exercises in those plans I've never seen in any other plan. They look like modified plans based on #37 & #29.

to answer your orignial question, I wouldnt run more than 3 prep cycles without taking a deload/peaking week to determine what your new maxes were. Otheriwse, you could be training for ages with weghts based on a max which is too light for your current strength.
The other option would be to continuously run prep cycles but bump the maxes by 1-3% per cycle, depending on how you felt your progress was.

What is your rating? Have you run #37 etc. before?
29-30-31-32 is pretty nasty. I ran it once a while back and it was too much for me.

I am Class 1 and I have run numerous sheiko cycles in the past. I have been away for awhile so I am goint to run through 29-37-32 for awhile. If i keep making solid progress i will stick to that for awhile before attempting 29-30-31-32. I may even forgo that cycle because most people seem to get run into the ground by it. I would move on to the CMS program when the time is right.

Perhaps running 29-30-31-32 might be good with some reduced volume. Or Ben is currently running a reduced volume CMS cycle that he is doing very well from. Ado Gruzza has also posted a CMS cycle up here that looks pretty good.

I didnt. Its not a reduced volume version of the 'standard' CMS cycle which is on the web, its just a different cycle, written by Sheiko for CMS level lifters which happens to have a little less volume on the powerlifts (but a lot more assistance work)

ben in response to a previous post of yours do you think it would be ok to only take a one to two week break to deload/test between cycle of 29/37 so say 29-37-deload/test wk repeat or do you think running the full 32 would be more beneficial
